The fine print
Last updated 29 August 2026. Written to be read, not to be survived.
Every package includes rewrites (3, 5 or 10 depending on which you bought), and a rewrite means new words and a new recording, not a re-render of the same thing. Most songs that miss on the first pass land on the second. Use them — that's what they're for.
Email hello@sendaserenade.com within 30 days of your order and we'll refund the whole thing. You don't have to justify it and we won't argue. Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually take 5 to 10 days to appear, depending on your bank.
The song is yours either way. We're not going to take a recording of someone's grandmother back off them.
If the CD arrives damaged or the printing is wrong, tell us and we'll send another at no charge — no need to return the first one. Once a disc has been printed and mailed we can't refund the CD portion of a cancelled order, because it's a physical object with your photo printed on it and it's no use to anyone else. The digital part of the order is still refundable under everything above.
Ask any time before we've recorded, and it's a full refund, no questions.
You tell us about a person. We write lyrics about them — free, and yours to read before you pay anything. If you buy, we produce a recording of that song and deliver it to you as an audio file, and optionally on a printed CD in the post.
Lyrics are written with AI from what you type in the form, and the recording is produced with AI music generation. A human sets up and oversees the process, and an automated check reads the lyrics against your brief before anything is recorded. We say this plainly because you should know what you're buying — it's how a real song costs $18.99 instead of $200.
Once you've paid, the song is yours. Play it at a wedding or a funeral, post it, put it in a video, give it away, keep it forever. We don't charge licensing fees and we don't come back later asking for a cut.
We keep the right to use songs we've made in our own marketing — but only where you've explicitly said yes on the order form. If you don't tick that box, your song never appears anywhere. If you tick it and change your mind, email us and it comes down.
The details you give us. We write from what you type and we never invent facts about a real person — which also means we can't check whether what you've told us is true or whether the person you're writing about is happy to be sung about.
We can decline or refund any order that runs into the above, and we will.
Lyrics usually arrive within minutes; recordings within the hour. Ceremony orders are guaranteed by the date you give us, provided you give us at least 72 hours. Printed CDs ship within three business days and travel by USPS Media Mail, which typically takes 2 to 8 days — we can't control the post, so if the date matters, order early.
We can't promise a specific singer's voice, an exact runtime, or that a particular line survives a rewrite. We can promise that we'll keep working on it within the rewrites your package includes, and refund you if we can't get there.
If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid us. We're a small operation selling songs, not an insurer of anybody's event.
If we change these terms, the version in force is the one that was on this page when you ordered. We'll keep the date at the top honest.
We do not see or store your card details. Payment is handled by Stripe, and their privacy policy covers that part.
Write your song, record it, deliver it, and post your CD. We email you about your own order. If you've bought before, we may email you once more about a future one — every such email has an unsubscribe link and one click ends it.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not add you to anybody else's list.
To make the song, the details you write are sent to our AI providers (Anthropic for the lyrics, ElevenLabs for the recording) and to our hosting provider. They process it to produce your song. Stripe handles payment. That's the whole list.
Often they haven't given us anything themselves — you have. We only use what you tell us to make the song you asked for. If someone wants a song about them removed from anything of ours, email us and it's done, no questions.
Orders and songs stay available so you can come back to them. Ask us to delete your order and we will, permanently, within 30 days — though once a song is deleted we can't get it back for you, so download it first.
This service isn't for anyone under 18. Songs about children are welcome — the buyer just has to be an adult.
Any of this — questions, deletions, corrections — goes to hello@sendaserenade.com and a person reads it.
